Ceiling Tile Art

The Ceiling tiles were started by Mrs. Egan in her Art II class during the 2004-2005 school year. The student’s assignment was to research an artist and create a ceiling tile in the same style of that artist. Mrs. Daidone has also added great ceiling tiles with her Art II students as well as Mrs. Masterson and Mrs. Harrison. Several years ago Mrs. Paparone introduced and developed ceiling tiles united in Art III and Art IV. Their tiles were painted to represent classical Renaissance Paintings such as “The Birth of Venus” by Botticelli, “Flaming June” by Lord Fredick Leighton, and “The Creation of Adam” by Michelangelo.

We then introduced ceiling tiles to the Art Club and developed and painted several ceiling tile murals for teachers for their classrooms. Students have a lot of enjoyment painting these tiles and feel good about leaving a mark in their school. Several have come back to show their friends and family.
