Benefits
Why take a dual-enrollment college course?
At Ewing High School, eligible students can take college courses while they are high school students through the Dual-Enrollment Program. The opportunity to take college courses while in high school has numerous benefits. The biggest advantage is that is it allows students to get a feel for what college courses entail and the college atmosphere before they are full-time college students. Here are additional benefits for taking college courses:
- College courses are given Advanced Placement (AP) credit and weighting at EHS
- Dual-enrollment students have an opportunity to receive transferable college credits before being a full-time college student
- The price to take a college course through the Senior only dual-enrollment program is a minimal tuition cost of $150 per class at TCNJ. MCCC courses will cost the in-county student rate. Students who participate in the online EHS-Sponsored College Course incur no cost. Students are responsible for the cost of books and course materials.
- Dual-enrollment students have the opportunity to collaborate and learn from college level professors and students
- Dual-enrollment students in the senior only program have the choice to take their college course at TCNJ or MCCC. Students enrolled in AP coursework at EHS can also opt to receive DE credit through TCNJ for the $150 fee.
